The Camiling Municipal Library was formally established on February 27, 1953, through Resolution No. 29, which was unanimously approved by the members of the Municipal Council under the administration of Honorable Mayor Godofredo Dancel. The library was originally located within the municipal compound and had a seating capacity of approximately 30 to 45 readers.
The first librarian appointed to manage the library was the late Mrs. Segundina Apostol in 1953. She was later succeeded by Mr. Lester Agustin, followed by Ms. Erna Darum. Upon the retirement of Ms. Darum in May 2015, Mr. Ramil M. Lapitan assumed the position of municipal librarian in July 2015 and continues to serve in this capacity up to the present.
